British American Tobacco DBS Costa Rica celebrates 20 years of success and confidence in Costa Rican talent

San José, October 31, 2023. British American Tobacco Digital Business Solutions (DBS) Costa Rica, a leading company in providing Finance, Human Resources and Supply Chain solutions, celebrated its 20th anniversary of operations in Costa Rica, reinforcing confidence in Costa Rican talent as a key enabler of transformation solutions.

Their human resources capabilities, in particular, are among the most well-established in Costa Rica”.

A hub committed to Diversity

In these two decades, British American Tobacco DBS Costa Rica has become a hub of diversity and talent exchange. With employees of 14 different nationalities, a workforce that consists of 56% women and 44% men, and with diverse generations looking for the best solutions (70% of Z Generation, 22% of the Millennial Generation and 8% of X Generation). The company demonstrates its commitment to Costa Rican talent and its ability to attract and retain professionals of various ages and origins.

"Costa Rica continues to be a strategic location with amazing talent, which allows us to support 24 different markets of the group, including countries in the Americas, from Canada and the United States to Chile. This operation strongly supports the company's business strategy in the country", Adham added.

British American Tobacco DBS Costa Rica is also an engine for exporting internal talent within the company, providing high quality services in key areas such as Finance (Commercial Finance, Operations Finance, Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Record to Report, among others), Human Resources (Employee Services, Reward & Benefits, Global Mobility, Talent Operations, Recruitment and Payroll), and Supply Chain. In the last two years, more than 50 talent exchanges opportunities have been provided.

Recent investments

Over the past two years, BAT DBS Costa Rica has added more than 100 roles, and invested more than three million dollars to improve current facilities and acquire new technological equipment. With a strong commitment to sustainability, current investments have focused on providing the facilities with more efficient management systems regarding the use and disposal of resources such as water and energy.

Urgellés also added, “British American Tobacco has been a key player in transforming Costa Rica into a vibrant hub for corporate and business services.
