Life Sciences Forum 2026: 100 companies. One ecosystem. What comes next.

Growth brings its own challenges. In two years, the country added around 30 new companies, reaching a total of 100 industry players across the cluster. A side effect of that pace: many of them had never been in the same room.

The Life Sciences Forum 2026 was the room where that changed.

More than 960 attendees. 200+ companies. Operators, suppliers, and new entrants, many meeting for the first time in San José.

The conversations pointed in a clear direction: the ecosystem has proven itself. The question now is not whether to grow, but how to grow better. Manufacturing excellence. Supply chain resilience. Collaboration between companies that, until recently, had no reason to interact.

"We know we have a case study in relation to the success of a Medtech cluster in Costa Rica, but we do need to tell both the local ecosystem and newcomers that there's many other things that we're ready to do and that it depends on getting everybody together and work on every one of those trends to get Costa Rica where we need to be," said Pilar Madrigal, Director of Business Intelligence and Advisory at CINDE.
