Amazon to Open 2.500 New Jobs

• The company already employs 5000 collaborators in the country and expects to reach 7500 by the end of 2017.
• As a main requirement, applicants must master a second language.

San Jose, August 16th, 2017. Amazon Support Services Costa Rica announced today that they expect to hire during the rest of the year, 2500 people who master a second language like English, Portugese, Italian and French.

Other than customer service, Amazon offers administrative positions, as well as human resources, finance, research and fraud, and management positions.

“We celebrate the opening of 2500 jobs Amazon is doing during this 2017. This is a result of the effort done by Costa Rica to strengthen the competitivity conditions, thanks to a close alliance with the productive and business sectors. This makes us happy because foreign investment strengthens and allows the development of linkages that generate work and well-being”, said Luis Guillermo Solís Rivera, President of the Republic.

“Costa Rica is a country that offers high qualified human talent. This is why we decided to continue investing in the hiring of Costa Rican personnel. We are currently more than 5000 people who are part of this company”, said Alejandro Filloy, general manager of Amazon Costa Rica.
