Alajuela, Costa Rica. December 13, 2019. Visional Technology LLC, an American company dedicated to supply dimensional metrology and inspection of manufactured components, has chosen Costa Rica as its first expansion outside Puerto Rico.

This new operation will assist its clients in that country as well as the United States, Dominican Republic and Central America. Founded in 2001, Visional Technology LLC provides measurement technology, product support and technical services to medical devices, electronic products and manufacturing companies.

The company established the plant in Flexipark, Alajuela, where it already has five employees and plans to open more job positions next year. Among the requirements to apply are: English proficiency and technical knowledge in dimensional metrology, inspection and validation services.

In Costa Rica, it will contribute and supply the life sciences sector, the leading export industry in the country. According to Visional Technology, Costa Rica offers the ideal business and location environment to manage its service and sales operations. In addition, having more than 70 life sciences companies allows to transfer the skills in metrology applications to the medical sector and to the local market in the country.

“The official opening of our operations in Costa Rica marks the beginning of a new stage for Visional Technology. With this new site, we will integrate the capabilities and experience of Puerto Rico’s team with the talent and resources of our Costa Rican collaborators looking forward to providing the highest level of expertise in the implementation of first-order quality systems in highly regulated companies like the medical and aerospace industry,” said Victor Rivera, vice president of Visional Technology.

He added: “We are extremely grateful to each of the partners who have supported us to establish our company in Costa Rica, including our collaborators, our AFC work team, Facio andamp; Cañas and especially, CINDE’s work, who understood from the outset our vision for our operations in Costa Rica and who became our partners in this process ”.

“With over 70 multinational companies from the life sciences sector, Costa Rica remains as a strategic site for more companies to settle in the country. This sector is characterized by incorporating complex processes with high added value, which generates quality jobs. Its growth is continuous and dynamic, and we will continue working to become a hub for companies of this type, such as creating research and development centers. We are proud that Visional Technology has chosen our country. I hope we can become important allies,” said Minister of Foreign Trade, Dyalá Jiménez.

The company collaborates with several metrology companies such as Zeiss and Starrett. As part of these collaborations, Costa Rica’s operations will serve as a service center for the Quality Industrial Solutions division of Zeiss, for Central America and the Caribbean.

CINDE’s managing Director, Jorge Sequeira, added: “We are proud of Visional Technology’s establishment in Costa Rica, which makes it the first supplier of dimensional metrology in the country. This is a key service for medical devices companies and strengthens the exceptional work of the life sciences sector which encourages a generation of specialized human talent. Thanks to this type of services, the country strengthens the ecosystem of suppliers for various industries, especially medical devices, which strengthens Costa Rica's leadership in LATAM regarding its specialization in life sciences, manufacturing, electronics, digital technologies and research and development as it has been recognized by the Financial Times as a leader in the region. ”
