Resonetics to Open State-of-the-Art Laser Micro Manufacturing Facility in Costa Rica

New production site will offer high volume, cleanroom laser processing along with automated secondary operations

San José, Costa Rica, October 6th, 2016. Resonetics plans to open a new production facility in the Coyol Free Zone Business Park in Alajuela, Costa Rica. Construction started in May and is expected to be completed in October. The new 16,000 sq. ft. (1,486 sq. m.) plant will feature a 3,000 sq. ft. (279 sq. m.) Class 8 cleanroom, and 24/6 operations.

To start operations, Resonetics is expecting to hire 35-40 people. The team members will be laser operators, quality and manufacturing engineers and technicians. The company anticipates that operations will commence in the fourth quarter of 2016.

Resonetics’ facility in Coyol Free Zone Business Park will be the company’s fifth location. In 2015, Resonetics opened production in San Diego, California and acquired Mound Laser in Dayton, Ohio. In September 2016, it announced plans for a new facility near Minneapolis, Minnesota. With the additional facilities and the acquisition, Resonetics is positioned as the leader in laser micro manufacturing for the life science industries. The Costa Rican facility will have state-of-the-art laser systems and focus on high volume production of medical devices and diagnostics components.
