San José, Costa Rica. July 28, 2022. Experian, a global leader in credit information and marketing services, announced the expansion of its Costa Rican operations and with it, 120 new open positions in software development, advanced analytics, and data.

The company, originally from United Kingdom, hosts its Costa Rican operations at El Cafetal Corporate Center in Heredia and employs more than 1,300 professionals dedicated to data analysis, which they convert into intelligent information to help the company’s clients make the best decisions for their businesses. With these tools, Experian advises companies on credit risk management, fraud, marketing solutions, and business process outsourcing (BPO).

“Fourteen years ago, when we arrived in Costa Rica, we were looking to diversify our locations and take advantage of the strengths found in different parts of the world. There are multiple factors that made Costa Rica the ideal place for our business: its political and social stability, its proximity to the United States, and, the highly educated and bilingual talent of its people,” explained Minor Monge, Service Delivery Director at Experian Costa Rica.

The company’s growth in Costa Rica is in response to a new insurance intermediary model, which prioritizes digital solutions to reinvent business through technology, data, and personalized advice. Experian's mission is to help individuals gain control over and access to financial services, businesses to make smarter decisions so that they may prosper, lend more responsibly, and organizations to prevent identity fraud and crime.

Manuel Tovar, the Minister of Foreign Trade, commented: “In the last year, the Services sector has experienced a 12% growth in exports over 2020; this has contributed to the diversification of our export offer. With Experian’s more than 14 years of experience in the country, today we celebrate their expansion, which will be home of one of the company’s four global delivery centers and consolidate most of their business units. We see the company’s growth as a vote of confidence in Costa Rica and this challenges us to continue working and strengthening our investment climate, in order to remain positioned as strategic partners in their operations.”

From its Costa Rican location, Experian provides services to markets including the United States and other countries throughout Latin America and Europe.

“We congratulate Experian on their growth and for being an excellent employer that will exceed 1,300 employees in Costa Rica. Our country widely leads Latin American in services exports; our success is due to the high specialization of our talent, digital skills, and our English proficiency. These knowledge-based services (KBS) grew at a rate of 8.4% over the last year and allowed us to reach a record figure of $6,412.8 billion in exports of this type,” stated Jorge Sequeira, the Managing Director of CINDE.
