August 15, 2021. With more than five decades in Costa Rica, global power management leader Eaton continues to strengthen its local operations with new investment in its Moravia, San Jose, production plant.

During 2021, the company will invest more than $1.2 million in new equipment, cutting-edge technology, and manufacturing process improvements.

Despite difficult worldwide conditions in the last year, Eaton is stronger and experiencing rising demand for its energy management solutions in major projects in Central America and the Caribbean.

To continue supplying its local and regional customers, Eaton will start manufacturing two new product lines this year, thus assuring its current and future growth.

“The investment has also led to improvements in manufacturing, painting, and assembly processes. Such is the case of the new PRL 1, 2, and 3 panelboard production line, where we will increase production efficiency and reduce delivery times to our customers,” affirmed Pedro Kastrup Raposo, Eaton’s operations manager for Central America and the Caribbean.

Due to the business expansion, the company will be opening new jobs in product production, manufacturing, and assembly.

Regional Leadership
Being a strategic provider in large-scale projects such as the Panama Canal expansion, the Tocumen International Airport, several hospital-construction projects in the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica, and commercial and renewable energy projects in Panama, Puerto Rico, and El Salvador has helped Eaton expand its manufacturing capacities and identify critical technologies for its operations.

Testimony to this is the more than $5 million Eaton has invested in the last four years in its Costa Rican plant as part of its vocation for continuous improvement and leadership as a growth catalyzer - and to continue making a difference in the quality of life of consumers through its power management solutions.

The company also continues to grow rapidly from its latest acquisitions, consolidating itself as power sector leader.

At present, Eaton has about 92,000 employees worldwide and customers in more than 175 countries. In Central America and the Caribbean, it employs for more than 170 people.
