Multilingual Job Fair by CINDE returns in-person to the Antigua Aduana

  • The Job Fair by CINDE will take place on April 21, 22, and 23, with the participation of 45 multinational companies and 3,500 available job vacancies.
  • Those interested should first register on the cindejobs.com platform and generate the QR code for admission to the event.
  •  All applicants must certify their proficiency levels in a second language: English, French or Portuguese, through the free BELT language tests provided by Idioma Internacional.

San Jose, Costa Rica, March 27, 2023. After a three-year pause, CINDE - the Investment Promotion Agency of Costa Rica - announced that the country's most important multilingual job fair will return in-person from April 21 to 23 at the Antigua Aduana.

Vanessa Gibson, Director of Investment Climate at CINDE, commented, “aving an in-person space where people are able to interact with companies, apply for available positions, and even advance in the interview process on the same day is part of the experience and advantages offered by the in-person fair. We are pleased to return to the Antigua Aduana and, through this first-hand contact, promote the generation of employment by the multinational sector that created more than 25,000 formal and high-quality job positions by the end of last year.”

Prior registration is required to apply for positions

Attendees will be able to enter the venue free of charge during all three days of the fair. On Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22, the hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; while on Sunday, April 23, the hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The basic requirements to participate are: to be over 18 years old and to have a valid identity card or residency permit.

All interested individuals must complete their registration on the website www.cindejobs.com. After completing or updating their profile, the applicant must take the BELT language test in English. Both are mandatory steps to be able to participate in person at the job fair; once the requirements are completed, the person will receive a QR code as an entry pass.

Bilingual component
The job fairs organized by CINDE specialize in the search for bilingual talent. Most of the positions require proficiency in the English language at various levels, however, there are also options available in Portuguese and French.

Idioma Internacional joins as a strategic partner to apply, for free and online, the BELT language tests in English, French, and Portuguese. These tests certify language proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference scale, which is the most widely used standard in the world.

"Multilingual Job Fair has always had a positive impact on the job market in Costa Rica. In each edition, thousands of people find their ideal job and improve their quality of life. We are filled with satisfacton that for the tenth year the BELT language tests are part of the job fair and make it possible to link Costa Rican human talent with participating companies," said Brian Logan, General Manager of Idioma Internacional.

Starting today and until the end of the fair, people are able to access BELT - free of charge - through the registration platform. We recommend taking the test in a quiet place, using headphones, and having a stable internet connection.

The attractiveness of Costa Rican talent
According to the latest results report from CINDE, presented last February, Costa Rica has 405 multinational companies that employ over 180,000 Costa Ricans in the Services, Manufacturing, and Life Sciences sectors.

For this edition of the Multilingual Job Fair alone, there will be the participation of 45 multinational companies and more than 3,500 job vacancies.

Auxis is a company with over 25 years in the market and is a pioneer in innovation and optimization of operations for companies of different industries and sizes in areas such as Finance and Accounting, Customer Service, Human Resources, Technology, Automation, among many others.  Due to the high demand for our services, our operations in Costa Rica are growing, and for this fair, we come to offer an innovative employment approach, with opportunities based on performance and attitude, and not on the years of experience that candidates have. Auxis is a flexible, passionate, and committed company; we are pleased to join this in-person job fair," commented María Matamoros Álvarez, Human Talent Manager at Auxis Costa Rica.

Precisely, the reason why Costa Rica is very attractive for the arrival of multinational companies is Costa Rican talent, distinguished by its mastery of English, strategic skills, continuous learning, and resilience. This is due to innovation and leadership in managing digital skills in Latin America to carry out global analysis processes and strategies.

Karin Lachner, Strategy Director of the Global Services Center for Equifax, located in Costa Rica, pointed out that: “Equifax is one of the first five multinational companies in Costa Rica, and we continue that trajectory of accelerated growth in the country that positions us today among the top five employer companies in the services sector. We offer 300 positions, with roles in a variety of areas from sales and customer support to data analytics, cybersecurity, automation and artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and technology. Under “power your possible,” we live a people-centered approach focusing on their well-being that allows for integral development and growth. This is combined with solid benefits such as private insurance for the employee and their family in all positions”.

At the fair, there will be job openings available for areas such as project management, software development, computer science, systems engineering, accounting, finance, administration, financial analysis, technical support, engineering, human resources, sales, purchasing, supply chain, and manufacturing, etc.

Bill Gosling Outsourcing (BGO) is another participating company. This multinational has been thriving in Costa Rica since its opening in 2019.

“Our office in Heredia is the fastest-growing site in our Global Company. We currently employ over 1.000 Goslings (team members) in the contact center industry. People love to work with us because of the people they work with, and the fun we have together. Our core values include investing in promoting and growing our people (more than 100 Costa Ricans were promoted in our company last year). We are thrilled to be joining the CINDE job fair and plan to create more than 150 new jobs in the next 3 months," explained David Vargas, Director of Operations at Bill Gosling Outsourcing.

Skill development
For this edition, participants will be able to learn more about how to enhance their professional profile and tailor it to the needs of the job market with the help of Future Up, a technological platform that suggests learning paths for acquiring skills and abilities with greater demand.

Future Up offers courses and ongoing learning options based on the users' interests, allowing them to improve their personal and professional profile in terms of employability, technological entrepreneurship, skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM in short), and multilingualism.

Resources from leading companies such as Coursera, IBM, AWS, among others, are available at futureup.com.
