Microsoft Platforms Invite the Public and Teachers to Reskill Virtually

APRIL 27th 2020

•The virtual platforms are Microsoft Learn and Microsoft Educator Centre.
•One focuses on students and the public who want to reskill for the fourth industrial revolution, and the other one provides teachers with interactive learning.

San José, Costa Rica. Monday, April 27, 2020. Social distancing has opened the way to spending more time on virtual training through educational platforms and strengthen the reskilling process. Microsoft provides two free online learning alternatives: Microsoft Learn and Microsoft Educator Centre

Microsoft Learn trains students and the public interested in learning the Microsoft technologies and information technology skills in greatest demand in the 4.0 industry and labor markets, such as cloud management, artificial intelligence, data science, and computer science.

The platform offers role-based training and learning paths for Azure administrators, developers, and solution architects. It also offers role-based training and learning paths for Microsoft Power BI, PowerApps and Dynamics.

“At Microsoft we thought of an educational model that is evolving towards the democratizing of knowledge, enabling different generations to prepare themselves in the skills needed by the working world. Microsoft Learn was engendered under this premise, delivering totally free, self-directed courses and contents that boost technical and professional careers, marking at the same time a clear path to employability through certification recognized internationally by the technology sector,” explained Ineke Geesink, general manager of Microsoft Costa Rica.

The platform is totally free and provides more than 400 courses and 23 languages, including Spanish. Those interested can go to
Teacher training. Teachers can also train virtually using the Microsoft Educator Centre platform, where they can access hundreds of hours of self-directed, free-demand courses that will help them strengthen their digital skills and maximize their class results in a remote virtual environment.

They will also be able to share and learn from the experience in the use of technology of thousands of teachers the world over.

“We thought about the role of teachers, who have the huge challenge of educating and leading the learning processes of millions of children and youths globally. So, Microsoft has provided teacher training tools for them to strengthen their digital skills and learn virtual education methodologies through the Microsoft Educator Centre,” said Margarita Morera, Microsoft education manager for Central America.
