Straumann Group announces its arrival to Costa Rica as a strategic investment in the region


  • The Swiss company will establish operations in the country with its brands Neodent, ClearCorrect and Straumann, to provide services to Central American countries, the Dominican Republic and North America.
  • In one year, the multinational expects to have a workforce of 200 employees in sales, treatment planning, customer service and administration areas.
San José, Costa Rica, January 16 – Straumann Group, global leader in tooth replacement and orthodontic solutions announced its arrival to Costa Rica. The strategic decision reflects the company's commitment to its growth and expansion in Latin America and Caribe.

"Costa Rica stands out for its economic and social stability, making it a favorable environment for business. Additionally, it is the largest implant market in Central America, offering great growth potential. “The country has a young and talented workforce, the majority of whom are bilingual, and this is invaluable to our operations,” said Matthias Schupp, CEO of Neodent and EVP Straumann Group LATAM.

The Switzerland-based company is also engaged in the research, development, manufacturing and supply of dental implants, instruments, CAD/CAM prosthetics, orthodontic aligners, biomaterials and digital solutions for use in dental correction, replacement and restoration. In Costa Rica, Straumann Group will develop the types of operations: Distribution Center for Central America & Caribe, Customer Services for North America, Orthodontic Aligner Planning Center, Service Center and Sales Division for Costa Rica.

Investment and job creation

Straumann Group investment in the country is resulting in the creation of new jobs and the expansion of operations in the region.

Hiring plans added more than 50 positions just in 2023. Among the  profiles the company is looking for in 2024, there are treatment plan designers, customer service representatives, administrative staff, and professionals in medical device sales, with a minimum English proficiency level of C1.
