San José, November 10, 2016, U.S. based company

the company’s presence in the country. 3M GSC Costa Rica, along with two other
centers in the Philippines and Poland, will support the company’s internal
operations.

Attendees at the opening today
included the President of the Republic, Luis Guillermo Solís Rivera; Jhon
Fonseca, Vice Minister of Foreign Trade; Luis Gamboa, President of Costa Rican
Investment Promotion Agency (CINDE); Julie Bushman, Senior Vice President of
Business Transformation and Information Technology; and Ivan Rivera, General
Manager of 3M GSC, Costa Rica.

The GSC in Costa
Rica will focus on providing services in finance, human resources and
information technology, standardization and optimization of processes, data utilization
and improved services.

The choice establishing
this services center in Costa Rica was based on strategic advantages such as
qualified human talent and trajectory of the country in the services sector.

Luis Guillermo
Solis, President of Costa Rica said, "The opening of the 3M Global Service
Center is the result of strengthening the competitiveness of the country. We
continue to strengthen the alliance with the productive and business sectors to
generate employment. Costa Rica is a stable and growing economy with a
sustained effort in reducing poverty and establishing strategic public works.
The expected growth of a thousand jobs in this global center in the upcoming
years, motivates us to continue on the path to attract investments for the
benefit of the people”.

With this new
opening, 3M hopes to reinforce its operations based on process integration,
efficiency and dynamism, enabling excellence in their services.

“Today, we celebrate
the opening of the Costa Rica Global Service Center. The GSC in Costa Rica,
along with our GSCs in Poland and Philippines, will enable continued growth for
3M, help maximize global effectiveness and optimize our service delivery strategies”,
said Senior Vice President of Business Transformation and Information
Technology of 3M, Julie Bushman.

Jhon Fonseca, Vice
Minister of Foreign Trade, added “The services sector represents one of the
fundamental pillars of the Costa Rican economy. In recent years, with the rapid
development of technology, this sector has built increasingly complex and
higher value added services, which require more qualified human resources. Despite
the speed of the change, the country has successfully responded to market
needs. In this regards, services sector companies represent more than half
(52%) of the companies operating in the free zone regime. We are proud to know
that world-class companies, as 3M, found in Costa Rica talent and appropriate
conditions to provide highly sophisticated and global services. As a
government, we appreciate the confidence in the country, and we reiterate our
commitment to continue working to create and maintain adequate conditions and qualified
human talent for the operations’ success in the country”.

Luis Gamboa, President
of CINDE, said, “3M trusted in Costa Rica for the establishment of its new
services center which provides great value to this strategic sector for the
country. Currently there are 139 multinational companies in the sector and
together they offer more than 70 types of services worldwide in 10 languages,
giving us an idea of the potential of the Costa Rican human talent to develop
increasingly complex tasks successfully”.

In the coming
months, 3M plans to recruit expanding and improving the GSCs services. To
apply, candidates must be bilingual, with good proficiency in English,
Portuguese or German. Those interested in applying for a position can submit
