Uber announces the creation of its Center for Excellence in Costa Rica, investing and creating jobs in the country
- Uber will generate more than 300 jobs in Costa Rica during 2016.
- The company will invest 3.5 million US Dollars in the Country with the purpose of strengthening its customer service team
- The Center for Excellence in San Jose will be the first of its kind in Latin America
January 26th, 2016, San José Today, Uber announced the creation in Costa Rica of its first Center of Excellence in Latin America. The center will generate more than 300 jobs by the end of the year. To include San Jose in its growing network of customer service centers, Uber will also invest USD $3.5 million this year.
Uber is looking to recruit immediately the first group of 25 customer service specialists, which will allow the center to begin operations in the coming weeks. The company will continue hiring
25 more people every two weeks until it reaches the goal of creating 300 local jobs this year. The modern center in Costa Rica will become a strategic support hub for Uber operations in Latin America, a region that has operations in nine countries, promoting innovation and service excellence to the community of users and drivers.

In search for talent Uber will recruit bilingual SpanishEnglish speakers with knowledge of software applications. Among the activities that will take place at Uber’s Center of Excellence, are the ones related to customer service, data entry, data analysis, tech support and attention of reported cases by Uber users in Latin America.
