It operates the company in Costa Rica, in La Ribera de Belén, where it provides services to other Citi offices worldwide.

The growth in the number of jobs is part of a development strategy that the company has in Costa Rica, a country where 10 years ago, decided to establish its Shared Service Center due to the good economic conditions of the market, good academic preparation, as well as the high level of English of the staff and the strategic location of the country.

"Celebrating a decade of the Citi Shared Service Center in Costa Rica is a demonstration of the national commitment to continue consolidating the attraction of investments and guaranteeing security, stability and competitiveness in our country. I want to congratulate Citi for the work done during these years and thank them for their trust in the Costa Rican talent. The growth, that companies like Citi are experiencing in the country, commits us to continue fostering wellbeing and growth in a close alliance between the Government, institutions, business chambers and productive sectors ", emphasized the President of the Republic, Luis Guillermo Solís Rivera.

"Ten years ago, we started with 25 employees and an investment of US $ 500,000. The growth over these years has been exponential. Right now, the cumulative investment of the Citi Service Center in the country exceeds US $ 47 million”, said Morella Ramírez, Manager of the Citi Shared Service Center, in Costa Rica.
“Costa Rica has opened the doors to offer a service of the highest quality to other Citi offices internationally. From Costa Rica, we have shared best practices with the network of service centers, which positions us favorably and we hope to continue growing," added Ramírez.

The Minister of Foreign Trade, Alexander Mora, commented: "We are happy to see the roots that, for 10 years, Citi has maintained with Costa Rica. Its growth, in elements that go beyond investment and employment, but include excellence and innovation, have managed to position the country as one of its strategic centers worldwide.
However, the success of these operations is not coincidence. They are the result of strategic policies, backed by concrete actions, which for years Costa Rica has implemented. But we cannot forget that, in a global context of rapid transformation and aggressive competition, in which we operate today, it is critical to redouble efforts to improve our investment climate and strengthen the conditions of competitiveness - country, so that this type of operations can continue to establish and grow in our soil. "

On March 3rd, the company will hold a job fair in its offices located in El Cafetal Corporate Center, in Ribera de Belén, as it will be recruiting bilingual English-Spanish professionals for different areas including: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Technology, Audit and Risk Management, Compliance, Human Resources, Supply Chain, among others. "Human talent has been one of the main pillars of Citi's growth in Costa Rica: Costa Ricans have demonstrated great talent, passion and professionalism that translates into innovation and continuous improvement that are key factors in our company," said Ed Sánchez, Manager of Citi in Costa Rica.

"Citi's commitment in Costa Rica is two-way. In the first instance, operating a Service Center with the highest standards of excellence providing support to its services to Citi globally. In the second instance, we are committed to the corporate clients with whom we have worked for almost 50 years, supporting us in their endeavors and innovations; with these corporate clients we have continuously worked on some of the most important strategic transactions in the country that have ultimately generated progress, development and growth in Costa Rica,” added Sánchez.
